Festival of Wonder, Stroud 2025 — What a Magical Weekend!

Festival of Wonder, Stroud 2025 — What a Magical Weekend!

What an amazing weekend! I had the honour of performing at the Festival of Wonder in Stroud, held at St Laurence Church, Stroud Centre for Peace & the Arts. From Friday through Sunday, the festival turned the church and surrounding spaces into a festive, enchanting celebration of art, magic, and community — and it was a joy to be part of it.

As a professional magician and entertainer, I brought a mix of close-up magic, stage illusions, and interactive performances — and the response was incredible. The atmosphere was full of wonder, warmth, and excitement. Families, children, and festival-goers of all ages gathered to enjoy circus, music, workshops, dance, and live entertainment.

Highlights of the Weekend

  • The festival’s centrepiece circus show The Briar and the Bramble featured world-class aerial artists, jugglers, performers — and included me among the lineup, which was both an honour and a thrill.

  • The venue — St Laurence Church — was transformed into a magical “woodland wonderland,” decorated with hundreds of leaves designed by local primary school children, giving the festival a beautiful, community-led feel.

  • Acts ranged from circus and aerial performances to music, dance, spoken word, and family-friendly activities — making the festival a true celebration of creativity and community in Stroud.

  • The sense of wonder was real — from gasps at illusions, to smiles from kids, to shared moments of laughter and awe. I felt honoured to contribute to that magic, and to share the stage with such talented artists and a vibrant community.

Thank You to Everyone Who Came Out

A massive thank you to the organisers of the Festival of Wonder, the team at St Laurence, volunteers, fellow performers, and — most importantly — everyone who came along. Your energy, cheers, and smiles made it a weekend to remember.

I’m proud to have been part of such a special event, and humbled by how well the community embraced the magic and art on offer.
